Don't know how to keep your kids busy?
How about a cheap manual activity that will amaze them?
A school friend recommended an incredible activity to keep the children busy.
The experiment to do at home is to turn a raw egg into a bouncy ball without it breaking of course!
It's super easy and fun to do. Little chemists will love it! Watch:
Contents
- white vinegar
- 1 egg
- 1 glass
- 1 flashlight
1. Put the egg in a glass.
2. Fill the glass with white vinegar.
3. Leave on for two days.
4. Carefully take the egg out of the glass and rinse it.
5. Place the soft egg in front of the light of a flashlight.
6. With the light, you will see the egg yolk moving inside. It's a magical experience to see inside the egg!
7. Now take the egg and press it. You will see that it is all soft.
8. Then drop the egg on the ground to see it bounce without exploding!
There you go, now you know how to turn a raw egg into a bouncy ball :-)
Easy, fast and amazing, right?
Kindergarten and elementary school children will love doing this fun experiment to do at home.
Thanks to the very soft membrane that surrounds it, the egg bounces without breaking! It's an incredible experience to do!
You can replace white vinegar with red wine vinegar.
The red wine vinegar will color the egg which itself will turn red. It looks nice ! On the other hand, we can no longer see inside by transparency.
When you pour the vinegar on the shell, the vinegar reacts with the shell, which is made up of limestone.
Carbon dioxide forms and it makes lots of little bubbles!
The vinegar completely dissolves the shell. There remains a very soft and translucent egg.
My daughter loved this experience! She liked seeing the egg transforming as she went.
And she was very surprised to discover the new texture of the soft and translucent egg... and which in addition bounces!
