It's well known, the specialty of our toddlers is to come back from school with pants torn at the knees.

To believe that they spend their recess rolling on the ground and then take pleasure in discovering our annoyed looks...

Once, we pass, but when their jeans have a lifespan of less than a month, it breaks!

I tried everything without success

We then take out needle and thread to sew a patch on it, or the ironing board to stick one of these patches, which we know very well, will come off in a morning.

Or we go buy a set of twelve pants hoping that our most charming smile will allow us a small discount...

Not very economical! And above all, what to do with these holey pants? Throw them away?

If with scissors you can get by.

And to avoid cutting diagonally and having to redo everything, drawing a pencil line is the best trick.

Cut above the knee, shorter or shorter depending on the style your child prefers.

Just above the knee for street-style shorts to wear even at school. Closer to the buttocks for a little summer beach shorts.

There you go, you've turned old ripped jeans into shorts for the summer :-)

Simple, practical and fast!

Obviously, this easy trick doesn't fix the pants. But it's still economical, because it saves you from buying shorts for the summer.

Don't want the shorts to fray after cutting?

In this case, opt for serrated scissors. The shorts will fray much less.

You will find them in all the "baubles" stores such as La Foir'Fouille, Gifi or Babou or even here.

Savings achieved

If we consider that basic children's trousers cost between 20 and 25 € and that we will buy him an average of 4 per season, i.e. eight between winter and summer, I save with this very simple trick between 80 and 100 € at least!

Knowing that you can find serrated scissors for ten euros and that their lifespan is several years, that's enough to make great savings every summer!
