If you like to have something left over for your little one's study (only a few more years 😉), then you buy wisely on growth. Stokke is a Scandinavian furniture brand. It has been around since 1932, but in recent years they have only focused on children's products. High chairs, prams, baby carriers and nursery furniture. We previously wrote about the Stokke Steps high chair, another such beautiful one. And this time it's the turn of the other high-growth chair:the Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair. We even had it extensively tested by test baby Joa (a must-read review of the chair just because of the cute photos).
Stokke is known for its minimalist Scandinavian design, I love it! They work with sustainable European beech wood † So no worries, that because of your little one's high chair there will be no forests left when he grows up. That is a lot more relaxed in that beautiful high chair, isn't it? Although the chance is small that your sprout is already breaking his head over that. But if you are a bit green and like to buy consciously, then the Stokke Tripp Trapp falls into the right category. With the Tripp Trapp you get a sustainable product. And did I mention how beautiful he is?
It could just be that you have been sitting on the Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair yourself. Because the growing high chair has been around since 1972. You can hardly imagine it. Since then, 10 million Stokke Tripp Trapp high chairs have been sold. That's a lot of happy baby bottoms that have tested the chair for you! It is also special that the design of the chair has not even been tampered with much since its launch. The Stokke Tripp Trapp therefore consists of several parts to follow the development of your child. We explain them briefly.
That is of course the wooden frame. Because the frame has a kind of Z-shape, this chair can easily be completely slid under the table. As a result, your child can really sit at the table. That practical thing… those Scandinavians are very much at home! The basic frame is now available in 13 colors and you will always need it.
The Stokke Tripp Trapp newborn set is a seat for your baby, which you can use from birth until your baby is about 6 months old. You install this newborn set with a simple click on the Stokke Tripp Stairs and can also remove it again if necessary. By means of indicators (green/red) you can also see whether the set is properly attached. Very handy! If you would like a different color of upholstery on it, you can order that for a small additional cost. Of course, the cover can be removed for washing and there is a safety harness with which you can buckle your baby.
If your child can sit up by himself (around 9 months), you should go for the baby set. The baby set is a seat that you attach to the wooden frame, which provides support in the back and on the side. You use the baby set until your child is about 3 years old. The baby set is also available in all kinds of colors, so it's easy to match with your interior.
Unlike the Stokke Steps high chair, you don't need a separate table top with this chair. After all, you simply put the Stokke Tripp Trapp at the dining table. But if you want, there is still a table top available. Can be useful if, for example, you regularly have an overcrowded dining table and you are in need of extra space. With this table top you can turn it into a completely freestanding high chair.
There are several colors of the Stokke Tray available in the collection. The Tripp Trapp is of course designed for cozy sitting at the table with your child, but sometimes you only want to use the chair. Ideal to have a tray ready! Nowadays, this Tray is available in White, Black and Storm Grey.Not always necessary, but if you have a mobile child who just won't stay in his seat, a harness can come in handy. With this, your child still has freedom of movement, but he cannot get up and fall out of the seat,
In the baby set you put a cushion set so that the baby is really comfortable. This cushion set is multifunctional, because it can also be used if your child no longer fits in the baby set, but still likes to use the Stokke Tripp Trapp. The cushion sets are also available in all kinds of fun designs and colours.

In this phase you use the Stokke Tripp Trapp without a basic set, but often still with a cushion. Is just a little more comfortable for those little children's buttocks 😉 . As mentioned, you can continue to grow the chair from this age.
