Looking for a moment of rest just after the Christmas holidays, we had opted for a week's holiday at the Domaine de Blangy, last year it was at the Domaine du Val.
Here is a short, illustrated summary of the area and surrounding activities. With our opinion as a bonus 🙂
The Domaine du Val is located in the Aisne, 2 hours from Paris. Close to the Belgian border, in an area with little tourism (at least in winter), it is a place of relaxation guaranteed if you are looking for family relaxation.
The estate offers several types of accommodation, ranging from camping pitches (curiously empty in winter 😉 to small, recent and very well-equipped cottages.
During this winter period, we had stayed in a very pleasant, clean, recent, well-equipped and well-appointed cottage.
In a few words and photos:
– 2 bedrooms with adjoining bathroom (parental suites). TV in the bedrooms
– 1 large room serving as a living room, dining room with fitted kitchen
A number of activities are offered on the estate:
- escalation
– archery / blowgun
– geo catching (orienteering to find beacons on a course)
– nautical activities (canoe…)
Unfortunately, these activities are reserved for an audience of older children (ours are 2 and 5 years old). And to be honest, there was very little entertainment at that time. Do not go there for the activities of the domain if you plan to stay there in winter.
The green island is a place of leisure which includes an aquatic center, a bowling alley and a restaurant.
Thanks to a partnership between the domain of Blangy and the green island, we had a pass to enjoy the aquatic center every day.
The aquatic center is rather large, with a 50-meter pool for swimmers, a more family-friendly pool with water heated to 30 degrees, a paddling pool for the little ones and an outdoor corridor with water currents (nice experience in winter ).
You can also enjoy a bowling alley and a restaurant on the green island.
Not far from the Blangy estate, there is a small farm of adorable Alpacas, close cousins of llamas.
This breeding is really worth the detour, and we even had the right to a private visit from the mistress of the place. As a real enthusiast, she revealed to us everything about these beautiful endearing animals whose hair is worth gold.

Nice to discover the castle, the princess etc. On the other hand, the film is not at all suitable for young children...
We really enjoyed this restful and sporty break (all-you-can-eat swimming pool).
Ideal for a stay of a few days with the family, we highly recommend the place.
Just a downside for the season, prefer spring summer or autumn to get there!
