In the middle of December, the days are short, the sun is almost non-existent. The cold is setting in more and more as we enter winter. Low morale? Not even!

Tired by a busy year, and a year to come which will be even more so, we needed a break of a few days in a quiet destination, accessible by car in less than 2 hours (we live in Seine et Marne).
With a child of 4 years old and a baby of just one year old, the holidays are hardly relaxing (parents in our situation will be able to testify). We were therefore looking for accommodation where the 4 of us could rest, and with a swimming pool (indoor and heated, given the season). This is how we booked 3 nights at Domaine du Val, located near the Baie de Somme in Picardy.
The Domaine du Val is an eco-responsible holiday accommodation. Twenty comfortable houses on stilts await you. These holiday homes are very well equipped, particular care has been given to the decoration of the premises. A scented candle crowns it all, to guarantee you a 3-star cocooning weekend.
Here are some pictures of the house:
The word is easily understood, but it is difficult to understand at first sight what it encompasses.
The Domaine du Val holds the LUCIE label, and is therefore committed in this way to respecting the environment:
We guarantee you a very good welcome in this peaceful place. The woman at the reception is very helpful, smiling and available to answer any questions.
The owner is also very pleasant, and you will undoubtedly come across his dog Gus who does miles and miles every day on the estate!
The big animation on this place of stay is the large heated indoor swimming pool (28 degrees). A welcome swimming pool to enjoy the place. We may regret the reduced number of cabins for changing (only 2) and a draughty hallway (door to the outside).
A sauna would have been a real plus.
The swimming pool could possibly be equipped with some games for children (mattresses, balls, etc.).
During our stay, we attended a reading of stories for children.
3 books were read by a woman who knew how to captivate the young audience present that evening. The kids loved it!
Books and board games are lent free of charge, we appreciate it!
In addition a large coffee table was available for children with the necessary to draw. Something to occupy the children while the parents can "take a breather" in the comfortable sofas next door or curled up on the large cushions on the floor.
One evening, we also had a visit from a food-truck, which that day offered waffles, ginger pumpkin soup (rather good), skewers (we didn't try them), and “innovative” tempuras. ” (avoid).
Lots of things to discover in the Baie de Somme, but we didn't take advantage of it in the end (the weather was not right, and we wanted to take advantage of the area to rest and recharge our batteries).
