I saw an "info" recently posted on Facebook, so a status ok. In short, it said that we only had 18 summers to spend with our children. Shock. Say, that's crazy! How did people come up with this incredibly surprising figure? What talent ! What a scoop! Surprisingly, this corresponds to the age of majority?
Okay, come on, let's get serious for 3 minutes. Certainly, finally, we have roughly merdo 18 years to spend with our children ALSO. including summers. Of course, this hard-hitting title aims to put a stop to those who (write) loud and clear that the holidays are approaching and that it will be horrible to have your children with them H24. I whistle softly, not hiding that I've always loved those little weeks when mine left us to visit their grandparents, leaving us alone, the Man and me, certainly to work but... not only! uh uh
Being of a born empathy, I can obviously understand:that we can no longer take it when we are a stay-at-home mom in particular and vice versa that we cannot bear to read/hear parents "groaning" ostensibly at the idea of take care of his offspring. And I will only say one thing:let's mind our business. Judgments are fine, huh.
One thing is certain, here they are officially on vacation since Friday, June 21… until… September 2. It's long. For them, ok for us… What to make them do during all these weeks. Here the family vacation is in August (hiiiiiiiii I will tell you soon). So there is still more than a month to occupy (too strong in math admire)
Recreation centers are for primary.
Grandparents are cool, but... age makes... they go around in circles, cohabitation is more difficult and no luck this year, their vacation friends (aka the grandchildren of my parents' neighbors) don't won't be there in July…
We add to that two totally overbooked parents who, once again, did not anticipate the mess too much (us)…
So, of course, the 14.5 year old has organized herself well! A week with her best friend. Yeah but after?
So I recently toured the sites, organizations, colos and others. And I found (applause):she will go to Ireland for 2 weeks, in total immersion, so without lessons and the only French-speaking person in a family. The chip is super happy (pinch me, she's ripening!!). Abandoning his brother then… who will end up alone with his grandparents (poor darling) and in front of screens… ouch
This last point does not please me much, I ended up, thanks to a friend much more aware than me of the offers of the City of Paris, by finding a FREE "multisport" summer internship in a stadium in our arrondissement. He will therefore spend the mornings there for a week, taking 2 friends with him (there were 6 places left when I registered him) just to make it even more pleasant!
All in all, I did pretty well on this one. I'll tell you about the teen's stay, because I know I've been asked MANY times if I know of any "good" organizations, especially linguistic ones. A priori Nacel seems very serious. I have always heard good things about welcoming families in Ireland and we already know the country, she is happy to be back! I'm crossing my fingers that everything goes well but deep down, I'm honestly not worried. Rather proud and happy for her.
and yours, what are they doing this summer? Share your ideas/good tips and addresses!
