For my little family, Sunday afternoons are sacred because it's the only day of the week when we all get together for a fun or sporting activity. And lately, we've been particularly fond of bike rides.
Cargobike or cargo bike… So many names for the biporteur, a model of bicycle easily recognizable thanks to its wooden case. I discovered this means of transport that I would describe as atypical and friendly during a short family stay in Amsterdam. The Dutch no longer swear by this vehicle. The cargo bike is very useful on a daily basis. First of all, it's very practical for shopping, because you can also put heavy items there.
But many Dutch parents also use it to drop their children off at school. Otherwise, for some people, the scooter simply offers privileged moments with their pets during walks through the city. In short, a multifunction bicycle. As for me, I wanted to try this vehicle at all costs and fortunately, the family who hosted us had two models in their possession. This is how I introduced my children to this mode of travel and we adopted it unanimously.
Once back in France, I had only one desire, it was to buy my biporter as soon as possible, even if we don't see many of them in my neighborhood yet. Moreover, I have already convinced two of my neighbors who have just in turn had a cargobike delivered. On Sundays or Saturday afternoons, we meet for long walks with our children. If you also want to acquire a cargobike, place an order at Holland Bikes , the "bike" will be delivered to your home.
Before dwelling on the selection criteria for this bicycle, I will first insist on the importance of making the distinction between a three-wheeled scooter and a two-wheeled scooter. Yes, if you don't know anything about it, there may be an error in the goods. For information, the difference between the two models is mainly in the number of wheels. Indeed, while for the cargo bike, there are 2 wheels on the front to carry the wooden box, only one wheel exists on the cargo bike with a crutch so that the machine can stand upright when stationary. In addition, the scooter supports more weight than the two-carrier.
Many parameters are involved in the selection of a cargobike and the first is the use of the vehicle. If it is for short round trips from home to school or nursery, I advise you to opt for a classic model. You will take the opportunity to do exercises and burn some calories before going to work.
About me, as I have long kilometers to cover, I opted for an electric cargo bike. Coming with a 250 watt motor and operating with 7 gears, the bike is very easy to handle, especially on steep and uneven terrain. Otherwise, to bring more comfort to the children, I added some interesting options, namely a bench with cushion and belt, not to mention the essential rain tent.
