As the family has just grown with the arrival of our third child, our apartment has therefore become too small. We therefore decided to move to a larger accommodation, namely a house with a magnificent garden.
Are you going to move in a very short time and also lack ideas for the layout of your new home? I therefore recommend the advice of Focus Maisons or those concerning the house of Monde.fr which have been particularly useful to me and which will necessarily also be so for other mothers and large families. However, in this post I will mainly talk about our move which, by the way, gave me a lot of trouble.
My advice ? When the date is fixed, organize yourself without further delay so that everything is ready two or even three days before the big day. The task will be all the more laborious and difficult if you also have to take care of the children's affairs. Then all you have to do is load everything into the moving truck. You will also take the opportunity to sort out things that are no longer useful to you. Get rid of it with charities for example.
Start by dismantling the bulkiest pieces of furniture. This will make it easier to transport them. Put all the nuts, screws, dowels and bolts in one container so you don't lose them. Then continue with the packaging of your dishes, your books, your DVDs, your clothes, your decorative accessories. Feel free to use bubble wrap. Stick labels or write in marker on each box what's inside so you can identify it later. Do not forget to put the mention "fragile" on the articles which are easily breakable.
However, for me, the most delicate task was to make my children understand the reasons that led us to leave our apartment, a place full of love and memories where we shared the best moments of our lives. At first, the little ones were angry with us for having made this decision when we were perfectly happy in our apartment.
Moreover, we are moving to another region. Which was synonymous with a radical change in the living environment, environment, school, nursery... Hence our decision to take them without further delay to visit the new house once we had decided on our choice of future. lodging. And to tell you the truth, it is the existence of a large garden that especially seduced us. Without our asking them, the children very quickly projected themselves into this new outdoor space intended to serve as a playground at the same time.
Right after we moved in, we promised to install a swing and a trampoline. Otherwise, for the summer season, we are also considering investing in an above ground pool. From that day on, everything was easier. And even better, while they were initially very reluctant, my children became, to my great surprise, very impatient to move into the new house, to take possession of their bedroom, but especially of the garden.
