For those who follow me on social networks (Facebook/Instagram), you already know that we were very lucky to be invited by Madame Vacances to spend a week with the family at the Ibiza hotel in Les 2Alpes.
We already knew the resort of Les 2 Alpes for having made two short stays there (long weekends), also in a hotel by the way. We like it a lot:the slopes are numerous, varied in terms of difficulty, and then we climb high, very high, the glacier culminating at 3600 meters above sea level. You can even ski there in the summer!!
Skiing, we have been lucky enough to be able to go there once a year for several years (thanks to our jobs to Man and me), the children love it, I learned to love it (I never went there as a child – point calimero ah ah ah – and so I started skiing as an adult, but with a background as a figure skater huh, so that helps), the Man, he goes down all the slopes like a champion. In short, it's a big budget for us every year, but we make this choice because we spend really great moments each time and it's even better and better since now the children (sorry, the teenagers uh uh) ski with us and we can therefore leave all 4 for very big days. Hence the importance for us of having access to a large ski area. What was less the case before let's be honest, you had to come back quickly to the resort to pick up the moufflets at the ski school, this did not allow for long distant walks...
So, rental or hotel, of course, it's all a question of budget, I'm not crazy, but really, it's to be studied closely… indeed, especially with older children, I definitely like the idea of all-you-can-eat half-board buffets (what do teenagers eat!!). And then a real vacation for me also means... not having to do anything in terms of housekeeping:shopping, meals, cleaning, even if everyone does their bit, the mental load is much lighter in a hotel!! And this dream becomes possible (TADIN) with Madame Vacances who regularly offers great promotions (and valid DURING school holidays!) . This was the case for us:children (under the age of 18!!) stay and eat for free at the Hotel Ibiza des 2Alpes!
The positive points of the Hotel Ibiza:
It is located 5 minutes from the start of the slopes (a hotel shuttle takes us there and back, and that's class, REALLY), the rooms have a breathtaking view of the summit of La Muzelle (full south) and all have a balcony. Do not hesitate to also watch my stories on Instagram dedicated to this stay, you will see small videos of the interior of the hotel.
The Ibiza hotel is ideal for families:it has a BIG indoor swimming pool (and a sauna, a jaccuzi and a hammam for the parents – uh uh), a games room (billiards, table football , ping pong…), in the large living room there are board games available, the restaurant offers a huge buffet as children like them and two evenings a week, there is a magician/balloon inflator (Tom) who makes rides for young and old. At snack time you can even eat some pastries. Finally, a little musical atmosphere in the evening, but no boring club-type entertainment (which I find it a little difficult to bear to be honest), it really is a perfect balance for us between calm and activities.
You can even rent your equipment in the shop located right next to the ski room! Finally, there is also a small gym if skiing was not enough for you! Surprisingly, I didn't use it (unlike the hammam Uh uh)
Points for improvement perhaps? In all transparency, we were really good. I missed fruit at the buffets, even if there was, the desserts were really very sweet and that's clearly not my thing. We really like to eat well so the buffet formula is perfect for the children and the organization, but we still went out for a raclette one evening. Then, the bathrooms and the toilets are a little small, on the other hand, the bedroom is pleasant and the kingsize bed is very practical (especially if you still have little squatters with you) and above all the bedding is top (and that it's really rare that I think). Noisy at times (thank you to the English neighbors who scream every hour in the hallways), but that's the lot of any accommodation.
Some pictures of the mountains?
We had fairly mild weather, but for the season it was hot, I really felt like it was April! We skied every day except 1 when it snowed a lot. This is where we are happy to have a swimming pool in the hotel, but also board games (we also brought some). The children both ski really well. It's a little happiness. They often take the ski lifts together without us, it's super cute (don't tell them). We stimulate each other for the more difficult parts, we laugh, we progress, we help each other. It was so good!
I sincerely encourage you to think of Madame Vacances for your stays in France, not only in the mountains, moreover, I have already gone with them to the Vendée for example. They really have accessible and qualitative offers. It is an excellent quality/price ratio and once again the promotions are regular and allow you to optimize budgets (especially obviously if you book early). Afterwards, yes, I know, you still have to be able to go on vacation. I know my luck well.
