Do you know the game Triominos? It's a game inspired by dominoes, but the pieces are triangular in shape. And since this is the Triominos Color, each piece has a specific color.

This game is from the Goliath brand, not the best known among children's game brands. Playable from 3 years old, it's an easy game to play, with relatively simple rules.
The games are quick (about 15 minutes), so children really like this type of game. We usually manage to play 2 or even 3 games in a row.
Beginning of the game, all the pieces of the triominos colors are shuffled and placed face down on the table. Each player then draws 5 coins, placing them on a small colored easel, which allows them to be hidden from other players. One of the triominos from the draw pile is returned to the table, and the youngest player begins by trying to place one of his pieces.
The objective of the game is to manage to place all your dominoes before the other players. If the pose is relatively easy at the beginning, the more dominoes there are posed, the more the game becomes complicated. As can be seen in the image below, it is difficult to find the part that will have exactly the right colors in the right places to finalize the diagram:
But sometimes we manage!
Overall, this is an interesting, casual-use game. It's hard to play this game every day without getting bored, because children need variety. That said, the games being fast, it's a game we enjoy playing with them.
A game may look like this at the end of the game:
Nice isn't it?
However, not everything is perfect on this game. First, the yellow and green colors are difficult to distinguish for a color blind like me. It brings a bit of fun into the game because I always have to ask my 6-year-old son “can I put my triomino here, is that okay?”. “But no dad!”. “Ah ok here then?”. “Yes there it is good :)”
But there is a classic black and white triominoes (with numbers, not colors) for adults, so that's a detail, unless your kids are also color blind, in which case the game might become be unplayable for them.
Another point:after a few years of use, the parts of the Triominos have worn out (you can see it in the pictures). However, on the box, we can read the inscription “Superior Quality”. Superior quality that is not reflected in the durability of the colors on the pieces, such a shame for this type of game!
Should I buy it? If your children like domino-type games, it may be interesting to test this game. If you are not convinced that they will like it, you may be able to borrow a Triomino from a toy library or from other parents to try. You can also opt for a purchase on a second-hand site to take less risk (even if it means reselling the game if you don't like it so that another child can enjoy it!).
