Parents who wish to have their children looked after have the option of opting for the services of a child minder at home or having them looked after by an approved childminder. Like any employer, they have a duty to declare the agreed wages and calculate the corresponding social security contributions.
To do this, parent employers must contact the Pajemploi national center to operate legally. These few lines will introduce you to the center and the procedures to follow to benefit from its services, which are the responsibility of Urssaf.
The Pajemploi national center is responsible for registering parents who employ an employee as child minder or who use the services of an approved childminder, in addition to calculating and collecting contributions. It thus publishes pay slips and communicates them monthly to employees registered with Pajemploi. The first procedure to follow to declare your employees is to establish an employment contract when hiring and submit a form to your CAF or your MSA for the request for Complement of free choice of childcare.
This organization will then communicate the information concerning you to the Pajemploi center which will immediately send you the notification of registration, your identifiers and a temporary password allowing you to connect to the Pajemploi site. In the event that you do not meet the conditions necessary to have the Complement of free choice of childcare, you must contact the Pajemploi national center directly, which will send you a membership form and subsequently allow you to declare your employee as line.
When you opt for the services of an approved childminder, you are obliged to monthly pay the salary to ensure regular payment until the end of the contract. The salary paid must then be communicated each month to the Pajemploi national center by logging on to the site using your username and password.
The steps to follow are a little simpler when you log in. A page indicating the information concerning your employee appears so that you can validate it.
Next, you need to indicate the period of employment and the date of payment of salary. In this tab, you will be asked to enter the number of hours worked by your employee, specifying whether it is a child minder or an approved childminder because indeed the amount of the contribution deduction will not be the same. At the end of your declaration, you receive a contribution statement and your employee receives a payslip.
It is imperative to report any change to your Pajemploi centre, whether it concerns a change of employee, the mode of care, your family or professional situation. Regarding the change of employee, all you have to do is fill in the Pajemploi section in the name of your new employee.
In the event that you go from home childcare to an approved childminder, you will need to fill in an "approved assistant" field on the Pajemploi site. If it is the opposite, you will be asked to complete a specific document. For any change in family or professional situation, it will be useful to first inform your CAF or MSA.
