Snow and discovery classes have been in freefall in recent years:a 30% drop in ten years. Parents may give them a certain endorsement, but they remain too expensive and complicated to set up for teachers.
However, they bring a lot to children – gaining autonomy, discovering a new region and, of course, learning to ski. The sea and nature classes are equally beneficial for our brats, so no more excuses to keep them at home!
According to surveys, 96% of parents of school children believe that going to snow class is an enriching and educational experience for their child, extremely beneficial since it takes students out of their school routine.
In this way, children can forge links that are different from those they know at school, both with their classmates and with the supervisors. The introduction to skiing and the various activities on offer (mountain exploration, observation of the fauna and flora, tasting of local specialities) delight the child and provide him with a "breath of fresh air" to which he don't always have the opportunity to taste tea with their parents. Another advantage is that the stay makes the child more responsible, according to 93% of parents.
The snow class, nicknamed "white class" in the jargon of teachers, is historically the oldest type of stay:inaugurated in the 1950s, it was part of a general leisure policy which wanted to put sports in winter within everyone's reach.
From a pedagogical point of view, the mistake was to separate the pleasures of skiing from its surrounding, touristic and cultural context. But the pedagogy has evolved a lot since then:the stays are studied in such a way as to allow our children to discover as many aspects of the mountains as possible. Specialized instructors and tourist guides are called upon to make the snow class more lively. Thus, sports practice will be far from the only benefit for your little one.
Among the classics, the "green" class (of nature) and the "blue" class (of the sea) allow you to experience, depending on the place of stay and the seasons, various adventures that will delight children:camping, kayaking, cycling, climbing, horse riding...
As part of a sea class, the stay is generally associated with a sailing activity but the discovery of the region and the marine environment (visit to a lighthouse, regional museums, swimming) will be part of the excursion.
As for the green class, the activities offered can range from the sports mentioned above to a stay on the farm, including hiking – always gentle, do not worry. Whatever the formula, our dear darlings can only find what they are looking for and fill up on new experiences:even if it is hard to let them go, don't hesitate any longer!
