Maybe you're going on vacation to get your kids off those cell phones or that iPad. But make no mistake… you can also do very nice things on holiday - together with a mobile phone. In fact… we all know by now that that screen can even invite you to be outside. You can also use the Landal Adventure app, a bit à la Pokémon Go. The latter was also a real hit at home, so I expect that this Landal app for building a digital tree house will also catch on. What do you think?

I personally think it's a genius idea! Besides the fact that Landal does have more genius ideas and we like to go on holiday in a Landal park, I think this digital tree house will score highly. Not only with our kids, but also with your children.
The Landal Greenparks Adventure app is intended for children aged 8 to 12 years. They are challenged to conduct a digital treasure hunt in and around the parks. During the trip in the wild, 'raw materials' are collected to design and build a digital tree house yourself. The end result can be viewed in Augmented Reality.
The Landal Adventure app can be downloaded for free, works in all 90 (!) Landal Greenparks parks and is available in 5 languages. Also at Landal Bad Kleinkirchheim. And Hof van Saksen also has an Adventure App.
So it doesn't matter which Landal park you go to, the app can be used in all parks. Whether you stay in the Netherlands and go to the Reeuwijkse Plassen or the land of Bartje. Whether you go on a children's holiday in Austria or to Landal Germany or Landal Seawest in Denmark. You can play digitally everywhere in combination with exploring the environment.
Also play? Here you can book a great Landal holiday and so that you can search for raw materials.
I haven't been able to try it out completely yet, because of course I'm just at home, but it's fun there too. When you start up the app, you first get some information and you can choose which guide will guide you. Will it be a boy or a girl? While the birds are chirping in the background (wonderfully zen!), I see myself appearing on my screen as a puppet. At my own house! Too nice . I see the shape of our house appear (chech below) and the houses of the neighbors and the course of the street with the meadows around it. That's cool.
Now, of course, I don't have any Mystery boxes in the area that you can search for in the app, but if you are at a Landal park, you can look for the Mystery boxes while walking through the park. The app encourages your children to go outside and explore the area around the park. Of course you also get a 'warning' in the screen that you should not only look at the screen, but also look around you.
With the help of a map in the app (don't forget to turn on the GPS), your children will search for those mystery boxes that are hidden in nature at the Landal parks. These digital boxes contain raw materials, such as wood and stone, with which they can build their own tree house in the game. Not only that, children can also view their creation in augmented reality using their camera.
At the start of your game you get the first raw materials for free.
Depending on which park the game is played in, the boomut you bolt can also be a beach hut, mountain hut or water villa. The Adventure app contains different landscapes for all parks:forests, water, beach or mountains. You can also build different huts in different parks. During their stay, your children can further complete their tree house in the app to make the most beautiful creation. That alone is great fun.
The digital designs of the created tree house can be shared on social media, with the entrants competing for a stay in a real tree house at Landal GreenParks. That's doubly fun!
The Adventure app is a bit of a mix of Pokémon Go (going out to find the resources) and Minecraft (building your tree house) and gives the feeling of geocaching!
To make the Adventure app even clearer for all children, you can get a booklet at every Landal park. Here you will find an overview of all raw materials, examples of various cool tree houses and a unique golden Mystery Box with specials such as a disco floor, game room, ice machine, air hockey table and drum set. In this way you are also invited to continue building your tree house after your Landal stay.
The app looks beautiful and as far as I have been able to test it at home, it will certainly work well with the children. In fact… I started with the floor of my tree house myself and was already disappointed that my free resources have run out. Now I can't build any further until we go on vacation this summer. Or we have to book a weekend at Landal in between, haha.
This unique game is in line with Landal's message 'discover what green can do'. Children have to go outside and into nature to collect the building blocks of their digital tree house. The best of both worlds, which the parents will also enjoy. The game also fits perfectly in the one and a half meter society.
