After the "tree of lovers" by jeweler Mathieu Tournaire, here is a new initiative to take over from the Pont des Arts, symbol of love in Paris, whose padlocks were removed last June.
Launched on August 9, 2015, St Amour's Day, the www.chaine-amour.fr website was created by Philippe Huguet, digital communication consultant, to allow lovers to declare their flame virtually in front of the whole world. To deposit yours, it's very simple:you enter your first names and country, enter the name of the city symbolizing your love, choose a color for your virtual padlock and can even send a photo (optional). The price of this online love is 5 euros, 10% of which will be donated to a charity of your choice (either "Project Rescue Ocean", or "Association du syndrome de Lowe", or "Quelle hospitalité pour la folie? ").
"By purchasing virtual ribbons connected by padlocks, lovers contribute to creating an international chain of love that symbolically starts from the Pont des Arts in Paris," explains the site, before adding that every August 9, the Chaîne d' Love will proclaim the name of the City that has the most declarations in terms of its population and will award it "City of Love". Today, the chain of lovers already measures 270 meters.
