As indicated, there are many wooden play towers available. It is important that you keep a number of points in mind if you want to buy a play tower. Don't just think about what is fun for your children, but also about the following:
First of all, it is of course important that the playground equipment you have in mind actually fits in your garden. And not only that it fits, but you probably also want to be able to store your garden furniture. Or possibly a trampoline. So don't fill your entire garden with a play tower, but take a small garden into account, for example. If you are setting up a wooden play tower in a small garden, try to limit all peripheral accessories and choose 1 or 2 items that you know your child will absolutely love.
Tip:A climbing wall generally does not take up much space.
A play tower soon has a slide. Very nice of course. However, a slide often takes up a lot of space, so keep that in mind. Fortunately, you can also find wooden playground equipment with a slide that are not too big anyway, so if your child's greatest love goes out to a slide…
If you don't have a lot of space for a wooden play tower in terms of depth, you can also make your own play equipment in your garden. Just check the above. Made from Douglas poles. Nice, isn't it? And very simple.
If you don't have much space in height, you can also choose homemade playground equipment that you keep low. For example, you can still make a nice climbing wall (for the smaller kids) in the above way.

Are you not creative enough to invent and build a wooden play tower yourself, but are you handy enough to assemble a play set with instructions for use? Fortunately, you have more than enough options to make your own playground. From XXL variants to wooden play towers in a smaller design, everything is available. The advantage of a play equipment kit is of course that everything is already nicely cut to length, that all your accessories are already included and that you even get the screws and the like. Once your kit has arrived, you can get started right away!
What you can also do if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a kit is the following. Buy a standard kit of a smaller wooden play tower that you can expand even further in the future with additional accessories. For example, you can give a climbing wall as a birthday present (or ask grandpa and grandma) etcetera.
Tip:In any case, always provide a surface of grass or possibly rubber tiles for safety.
A sandbox of course provides hours of fun, but the joke is that the sandbox with your wooden play tower hardly takes up any extra space. This sandbox is usually made in the square part of the house, at the bottom. A place that would otherwise remain empty. This way you can make useful use of any lack of space in, for example, a smaller garden, but this is also nice in the case of a large garden, because children like to be sheltered under a shelter.
If you do have a large garden at your disposal, you can really pack a punch if you want to. No 'normal' wooden play tower, but a house complete with swing, slide, climbing wall, sandpit, hammock, different platforms, rings, a rope ladder and all kinds of fun accessories such as a steering wheel, telephone, telescope, climbing rope and so on. A very extensive wooden playground can just take up 5 × 5 meters, so know what you're getting yourself into 😉 .
