For us, the period of children's parties has just come to an end. Lotte always has many children's parties in the classroom in May and June. Super fun of course, but also difficult to come up with something nice every time. It's nice to do something different from the others. We've put some ideas in a big jar and one of them is throwing a disco party at home. I thought it was a very nice idea, probably also because I have fantastic memories of it from the past.

Actually, you don't need that many extra things to throw a disco party at home. Although you can make it completely fantastic by hiring a real DJ. If you'd rather go the extra mile when it comes to music, you can go for a cool retro record player with which you put up your old disco records. We have one from the Retro Family, super cool thing. Or buy for example a karaoke set that the kids can use at the disco party or a mixing desk , also cool!
A really cool disco party also includes some dress codes, even if you celebrate it at home. Do not you think? Have your child make invitations with the dress code as a tip. Of course nothing is mandatory, but wigs with long hair, some shiny necklaces, cool 'sunglasses' or a nice shiny shirt complete the outfit.
Actually, a disco party at home doesn't need much more than what you have already read above. It's about good (or bad) music and a disco ball that provides the necessary disco lighting. Furthermore, the feet must be off the floor. But with good music it will probably be fine. As a parent you want to show as little as possible at such a party, because that's not cool, you get that.
Make sure in advance that there are some delicious alcohol-free cocktails ready, with a rim of sugar on the glass and a straw in it. Do you also have a cool popcorn machine or cotton candy machine they also have a delicious snack for the evening. That disco party is so much fun!
