During a trip to Disneyland, in very sunny weather, we tested the Vapiano restaurant for the first time during a family lunch.

Present all over the world with 200 restaurants including currently 15 in France, the Vapiano experience is attracting more and more people and the brand is continuing its development in France with the opening of several restaurants by the end of 2018.
We, for our part, went to the restaurant located in Disney Village.
Important clarification, if you have entered the “village”, you will have to go through the security gate to exit.
Vapiano is indeed located next to the Gaumont and the Five Guys burger restaurant.
The location a little out of the way allows you to get away from the crowds who go to Disneyland (which was numerous on this spring holiday Sunday). A good plan for customers who have time and are looking for a quiet break.
Wow. Large bay windows. A giant open kitchen where the chefs cook the dishes in front of you. A century-old olive tree erected in the center of the room. Modern decoration and a giant plant wall. The wooden tables and chairs contribute to the “nature &zen” positioning of the brand, especially since we find on the tables 2 pots of aromatic plants (basil and rosemary). At Vapiano, everything has been thought out to give yourself an Italian break over a meal.
A welcoming, very clean, and very large setting (there is a floor served by an express glass elevator). By the way, if you come as a family like us with young children (3.5 years old and a 3.5 month old baby), it is better to go upstairs. Indeed, in the downstairs room, there are few suitable tables:3 or 4 classic tables, the others are high tables, impractical for children (and the classic tables are in the middle of a draft because they are located near from the entrance, with the door remaining open, so avoid!).
The upstairs room has a play area for children (Kids Zones available to them) and the toilets are also upstairs (with, for your information, a changing table). Our darling even tested it by leaving a nice, well-filled diaper in the toilet 🙂
We can see that Vapiano makes it a point of honor that its restaurants are a place of meetings and exchanges where you come to savor delicious dishes in a relaxed and family atmosphere.
The welcome is one of the key points in our opinion in this type of restaurant (otherwise you might as well go to the fast food restaurant next door). Vapiano is more than just a restaurant, it's a concept. You arrive at the reception and you are given a card which will be used to record the dishes ordered and which will be invoiced to you when you leave. We weren't given much more information, which is quite a shame.
The hostess should always ask if it's the first time we've come, and if so, explain the concept, the place (with children, go upstairs), the menu and the new dishes ( put forward in the window but that the lady did not seem to know).
In short, Vapiano is organized into islands:
A surprisingly full menu for a restaurant where the cooking is done before your eyes. The advantage is to be able to find your account without too much problem (wide choice of vegan or veggie dishes, well-informed allergens).
On the other hand, this is paid for in organization and waiting time. In our case, we ordered 2 starters, a pizza, pasta and an oven dish.
In other words, one of the parents had to stay at the table with the little ones while the other had to queue 3 times to pick up the 3 dishes (all with a different chef). Allow 5 to 10 minutes for every dish, with chefs with variable moods (the manager is perfect, the pizza chef much less friendly)
Well, after all, we could have all eaten the same to make management easier 🙂
We made the choice to eat veggie during this meal.
Menu consisting of a dish (3 pasta dishes and 3 pizzas of your choice) for €8.10 + an organic Capri Sun drink (€2.5).
The pizza dough was really good (dad tasted) and 2 ears were drawn on this pizza xxx. Our son enjoyed it and almost finished it.
Very fresh and tasty bruschettas as a starter. Both the marinated tomatoes and the bread were excellent, a perfect appetizer!
– Mom's Choice Alex: Pesto Rosso:Fusilli, fresh tomatoes, ricotta, grilled pine nuts. Dish served with homemade tomato pesto.
The pasta is fresh and made on site. To be fussy, we could just blame the sauce (a little spicy because of the addition of chilli) for making us forget the taste of fresh pasta, but it's really linked to the choice of this dish.
– Cool Dad's Choice :Veggie Macaroni:Macaroni au gratin, roasted zucchini, fresh spinach in a creamy pesto sauce and Grana Padano D.O.P. Concerning this dish in the oven, it was greedy and well au gratin (perhaps a little too much). Not an optimal choice on this hot day! Baked dishes are difficult to judge because the homemade side is felt less than on other dishes. Again, cool dad would rather opt for a pasta dish.
If the prices of the dishes are reasonable given the quality, the drinks are quite expensive (4.40€ for a zero coke!). We haven't tested the “detox” drinks but the colored bottles are attractive (that will be for next time).
Coffee and desserts are served on a separate island near the restaurant entrance. Some desserts are homemade (as specified on the menu, in particular the chocolate mousse).
The coffee is quality and served with a smile.
To find out:It’s over here!
