Lotus has been at the heart of family life for over 50 years. Guarantor of the well-being of each of its members, the brand has made a special place for itself in half of French households, with its wide range of hygiene products recognized for their qualities of comfort and softness (tissues, toilet paper , cottons, paper towels…).
A year ago, Lotus launched its range for toddlers (diapers, panties and wipes). Baby having arrived at the end of 2017, I did not know the existence of these disposable diapers.
These layers are FSC certified and dermatologically tested. They are available in six different sizes to follow baby throughout his growth:size 1 (2-5kg), size 2 (3-6kg), size 3 (4-9kg), size 4 (7-14kg), size 4+ (10-16kg), size 5 (12-22kg).
My son weighs around 6kg so right now he is wearing size 3 nappies! (4-9kg)
Lotus offers a complete range of 14 references of nappies and panties from size 1 to 6, which adapt perfectly to the child to guarantee him ultra-comfort and protection in all movements, and 2 references of wipes.
Now let's discover the Lotus layer in detail with a test:
For our eldest, we mainly used Pampers nappies. No worries of redness and no leaks so we renewed the same diapers for our youngest. With the big promotions lately, we bought a lot of Pampers Baby Dry (see the 70% discounts at Carrefour Market, so how not to resist?)
Pampers was for us the reference in terms of diapers! Despite the controversy around the substances in the diapers, I did not worry more. The brand has been around for years, there are regular tests and checks. Even though many parents are turning to ecological products (like Love And Green, or even Lillydoo), we didn't follow the movement and stayed on Pampers...
Our comparison will be between Lotus Bay, Pampers Premium Protection and Pampers Baby Dry nappies (because these are the diapers I use, so it was easier to do a comparison)
At first glance, nothing special, Lotus nappies are as pretty as Pampers with fun decors and patterns. This detail is not in my eyes the most important but it is still more pleasant.
In fact, there's a story behind every Lotus Baby Touch nappies decor:Follow the little ladybug on her journey. At each pruning, she meets a new friend. On size 3 it flies away with butterflies!!
The diapers do not make a mark on the elastics and do not compress the baby's little belly too much because they have an elastic waist:this allows parents to adjust the diaper according to the size of the child. Stretchy ties allow for a good fit (the ties can even overlap)!
Your child should feel comfortable day and night.
By touching the textures of the 3 layers, there is no comparison, the Lotus Baby diapers are really softer and more pleasant!! It is by touching the 3 that you really see the difference! The Baby Dry next door are super rough!! Horrible… I regret having taken so many in stock during the big promotions… Given the softness of the Lotus nappies, they must be more pleasant and comfortable for the baby's bottom. They give the impression of being made of cotton! .The softness is really present. They are really soft and odorless, you absolutely don't smell any chemicals in this layer. Apparently, they're made from breathable materials to keep your baby's skin extra soft.
Colored water test to see which of the three layers is the most absorbent!
Touching all 3 layers, it's the driest Baby Lotus yet!!! I couldn't believe my eyes...I thought it would be Pampers Premium :
According to the composition of Lotus Baby Touch nappies, they have an ultra-absorbent system made from ultra-soft materials inside and outside the diaper to respect baby's skin. This system provides optimal protection and comfort for 12 hours.
After a night of sleep and a very full diaper, my son was still dry, no leaks. And the diaper did not smell of urine! The diapers absorb well and the liquid is distributed throughout the diaper. It does not cobble like the Baby Dry. The diaper stays as thin as Pampers Premium diapers.
Cellulose pulp, which absorbs fluids, is made from wood fibers. It is a renewable and biodegradable natural resource. The wood fibers used in our baby diapers come from responsibly managed, FSC-certified forests 🙂
3 absorbent channels that help distribute wetness evenly to ensure better absorption + an absorbent veil that helps draw wetness and loose stools away from your baby's skin to ensure they are well protected. These are great diapers for new parents thanks to the little line that indicates if the diaper is wet.
Look at the heaps that are forming, it must not be comfortable too!
