You have certainly realized on my blog that I like to tell about the weddings in which I have participated. This time, I'm going to tell you about mine, more specifically about our ten years of marriage, a moment filled with happiness that only ignited the passion between me and my darling even more.
On this occasion, I decided to take care of everything. It is true that it is usually families who surprise couples by concocting a party for them. But as my wedding did not count many people since it took place abroad, I wanted to rectify the situation this time by inviting as many of my relatives as possible. Result:a hundred guests.
With my husband, we decided to do this in a beautiful place near our house, which offers a superb green space. As it was summer, everyone was delighted to be able to enjoy the good weather.
A few days before the celebration, my small family, along with a few close friends, began to carry out the installations. We set up big tents, a stage, a good sound system, tables and chairs. For the meal, I preferred to call on a friend working as a caterer. He is a real cordon bleu and I love his cooking. Regarding the theme, I went to look for inspiration on the web. Finally, we decided to choose the "marine" theme because my husband is a fervent enthusiast of everything related to this area. And then this theme lends itself well to the summer season. So make way for blue-white striped colors with shells and other decorative items related to the sea. I asked my eldest who has a real gift for manual work to concoct me some objects that we could use as decoration. The result was magnificent.
We wanted a family and friendly party. So no frills. On D-Day, everyone was there. I was particularly stressed because I can tell you that organizing such an event was not easy. However, since my whole family was involved, it helped me a lot and, moreover, strengthened our bonds even more.
After all the guests were settled, the party started with a speech given by my uncle Tom. He talked about our life, our successes, our joys and some trials that were not easy. I was particularly moved and could not hold back my tears on this occasion. After this moving moment, it's time for a meal. I opted for an Indian and Asian buffet because I really like this gastronomy. The orchestra we hired knew how to set the mood from the very first moment. I still remember my great aunt jiggling around the track.
During the festivities, a slideshow showing all of our family photos played on a loop behind the stage. It was a way for us to share with our guests the happiness of our family life.
The party ended with a surprise:our close friends and families offered us a cruise off the Greek islands. So many emotions!...
