We all want the same thing for our children:that they have a healthy, happy future. In which they stand their own ground (or female!) and can be proud of themselves. A good foundation is important for this. You work on the future of your child from the moment they are born. Or even before that. But raising a child is not something you do on your own.
The foundation of a child is, of course, to a large extent laid within the family and the family. But children are also formed at school. That is why it is extremely important that children also feel at home at their school. And that they can learn in a way that suits them. The transition from group 8 to first grade is therefore very exciting. Is your child already going to 'Secondary'? So what do you pay attention to when choosing a school?
Table of contents
We are blessed in the Netherlands with fantastic education and all kinds of tools for effective learning. But a good school does not have to be the right school for your child. There are a number of points that you can pay attention to, which can be decisive for the choice of school and therefore also the future of your child.
Take a look at the above points. Which one do you think is important when choosing the right school for your child? And what does your son or daughter actually think about his or her future? They often have other reasons for choosing a particular school. The school choice of their boyfriends or girlfriends, for example. But letting your child's future be determined by that may not be the best choice of school.
Choosing a school that suits your child is very important. Don't think too lightly about it. The phase children are in now is a vulnerable one. Their hormones are already coursing through their bodies, and then they also have to go to a new school to perform as well as possible. If your child feels at home there, he or she will learn a lot more easily. If you go to school every day, for whatever reason, this will also affect school performance. And of course you also want your child to just have fun, regardless of his future (yes, even at school!).
Do you already have one or more schools in mind? Then do a thorough orientation. Request information about the school and visit open days. Also try to talk to (former) students or their parents. And did you know that you can also check the quality of schools on the website of the Education Inspectorate? The choice you have to make determines the future of your child, so in any case do not take it overnight.
As well as hopefully that new school suits your child, there will undoubtedly also be days when they curse the whole education. I've been guilty of it myself! Pretty bad, when you realize that there are so many children who can't go to school at all. Or that there are children who have to go to school every day hungry. That is the reason that MamsatWork has had a sponsor child for years.
Partly for this reason, we would like to point out to you the sponsor action at schools of Zip Your Lip. With this you can collect money with your school or youth group for children who have to go to school every day without breakfast. Maybe a good idea for the new school? Get to know your new classmates in a fun way right away! We are not only working on the future of your child, but also on that of a lot of other children worldwide.
Sign up via Zip Your Lip and get started together! With every €21 collected, a family can eat for a week! In addition to food packages, they also receive seed packages, so that they can grow their own food. Would you like to know more about organizing a sponsorship campaign at school?
