They say you never forget your first love but apparently some people still think about it a lot! According to a British study, carried out for the romantic film The Best of Me and relayed by the Express.co.uk website, six out of ten people still often think about their first love...and 4 out of ten would even still have feelings.
"More than any other relationship, when you think of first love you wonder what might have happened if things had been different and if it could have worked out," says a spokesperson for the film. Enough to make some spouses jealous, since 12% of those questioned admit to still being in contact with this first love… and admit that their partner is not aware. Gloops!
Well, all this is obviously a way to promote the film, since all these figures and their origin remain quite mysterious... But more serious studies also point in this direction. According to an OpinionWay survey carried out for Meetic with a sample of 1,013 people (representative of the French population aged 18 and over), 32% of respondents say they are still in contact with one or more exes, especially among 18-24 year olds (48%) and single people (46%). As for couples, 27% continue to talk to their exes.
However, seeing exes again is not necessarily bad! We all remember that time when we saw one of them again and said to ourselves, with a sigh, "To say that I liked it!" It seems so far away, how could I…”. A super effective little shock to definitely make us turn the page! And then as Beyoncé says in Telephone "Once the mirror is broken, you can always fix it...but you'll always see the crack in the reflection." Clearly, in 99% when it's over, it's over. "Ciao Bambino!" »
