The holiday is over for us. Region Midden has been allowed to go back to school since Monday and so my three children go to school with their new school supplies. On to their new teachers, a new grade and back to all their classmates. Yes! The kids are going back to school! When I recently read Joyce's blog about what she thought after two weeks of vacation with the kids at home, I thought:' I know how you feel!' Don't get me wrong:I really like holidays. But, I also like that the children are going back to school.
As soon as the children got a holiday, we went to Spain to look for the most beautiful beaches of the Costa Brava. That was fun! After two weeks we were back home and we still had four weeks ahead of us in which the children were home. Most of the boyfriends and girlfriends were gone, so they had to have fun with each other.
And that's exactly what didn't quite work out. Not at all the last week 😉 . I never aspired to be a police officer, but I still felt like I had made this career move. I don't have wallpaper either, so as soon as the weather was nice I threw them outside. “What should we do then?” asked Eldest Son. "Grab a ball and go to the park or something. You did that half the day at the campsite, didn't you?” I would say. Three deep sighs and some protest later, all three stepped out into the fresh air. They (almost) always came back happier than before they left the house.

Late to bed, a pajama morning, no fuss and easy:this is what my kids regularly did during the holidays. The last two weeks, friends came back from vacation and they played and stayed. But yes, everything comes to an end and slowly we had to get back to a rhythm. The week before school started, I start with this. Dinner at a regular time, always going to bed 15 minutes earlier until the normal bedtime was reached again. Slowly we worked towards that first week of school. It also makes a difference that Hubby was just back at work.
