A bold move:on the new album by K3 (Ushuaia), the girls sing about homosexuality and transsexuality. Between all K3 songs there is also a new song that causes a stir. They want to break a taboo with this song. But is that role for these girls and their young target group?

Studio 100 stands 100% behind the statement they want to make. After all, it is the year 2016 and this should be possible, also in K3 songs. More and more children are growing up with same-sex parents and are coming out as to their sexual orientation. Although they find it the most natural thing in the world to process these items in a song, they do expect criticism. It often turns out to be quite a sensitive subject. Moreover, it is young children to whom they address the message.
Yet that's the beauty of it:children don't mind at all.
It's just what an adult makes of it. I am very open about it with my children. K3 songs or not. For the simple reason that I want everyone to feel happy and loved. And if they ever get feelings for the same sex themselves, let them know that that's okay. The eldest had several classmates with two mothers, with whom she sometimes met. Of course she asked questions at the beginning. But with the open mind of child and parent, all she and we see is a loving family.
