Almost everyone who lives or works in the Netherlands and has children, stepchildren and sometimes foster children under the age of 18 receives this contribution from the SVB (Sociale Verzekeringsbank). Keep in mind that a foster allowance can ensure that child benefit is no longer reimbursed.
